The current frequency of our meetings is once per month and if this schedule is foud to be too far between, it can be adapted.
House meetings are posted on the calendar. At the end of each meeting there will be a time to set a date for the next meeting which will generally be chosen for the closest date that falls on the same day four weeks later.
It takes a minimum of four members to have a meeting. (if anyone lives here, they have agreed to participate in meetings).
If someone is the cause of a meeting to coming to fruition, it is up to them to reschedule the new meeting time for as soon as possible. (it is not the easiest task to get five schedules to match)
Between meetings, any topic that comes to mind that would benefit from everyone’s presence will be written on a list in the yellow book (top shelf den). topics range from telling everyone something, asking everyone something or explaining a pet peeve. This is a safe space to express yourself and your needs at the house. Everyone should be solution oriented when a problem arises.
Every person can run the meeting using the “how to run a meeting guide” in the black folder (top drawer den) Please be sure to follow the guide completely because while everyone is together it is the best time to set the deep clean date.
For new constellations of the community, it is important to discuss what method of communication works for everyone. In community, everyone can not always get their way, but everyone’s needs will be considered and a decision will be made together.
*The decisions made at the meeting will be followed by all members of the community.
How decisions are made: Majority rule unless of great consequence. An example here is the topic of getting a dog. The majority of the group wants one and one person is allergic. Then no dog. For things of less importance, letting go of gettin your way may be necessary. I once lived here with three people that insisted that dishes did not have to be rinsed before going into the dishwasher. I disagreed and live to tell the tail. Eventually one of them moved on and when it later came up at a meeting, the rule was changed because the then majority agreed dishes should be rinsed.
